About the Author

Dr. Neel Kamal FRCPCH was raised and educated in India, where he initially qualified as a paediatrician before attaining higher qualifications in the United Kingdom. Over a distinguished career spanning more than five decades, he has worked extensively across England, Scotland, Wales, and India in both hospital and community paediatrics. Kamal has served as a senior lecturer at Hull York Medical School, an educational and clinical supervisor for specialty trainees in community paediatrics, and president of the George Still Forum. He has also served on the executive committee of the British Association for Community Child Health (BACCH), edited its newsletter, and participated in the Select Committee of Children’s Movement Disorder of the Child Neurology Society of the United States. In addition to his medical contributions, Kamal has devoted significant time to charitable and community service initiatives, including leadership roles within Lions International. His medical articles have appeared in peer-reviewed journals, while his Hindi poetry has been published in literary magazines and anthologies.
